Based on the target retirement date of the investor, we combine the Equity, Fixed Income, and Gold allocations into pre-built investment portfolios that target a certain level of risk that is suitable to your investment time horizon. Longer time horizons (15+ years) generally allow an investor to take on more investment risks in exchange for potentially higher growth in the value of their investment. Thus, the longer you have to invest, the higher the risk of the target-date portfolio. As you approach retirement, the risk in the portfolio automatically is reduced to preserve your investment value during your retirement years.
